Upcoming Secondary Student Password Change

Upcoming Secondary Student Password Change

As part of our ongoing commitment to student digital safety, we will require all middle and high school students to change their passwords during the week of March 23–27. Each school will have a designed re-set date and schools will communicate directly with families about their day.

This is a precautionary step in response to recent phishing activity. Changing passwords—especially after increased phishing activity—is a normal part of using digital tools safely. It helps protect personal information and reduce the risk of unauthorized access.

What families can expect

Students will be prompted to reset their password the evening before their school’s scheduled reset day. Families can support their student in completing the password change at home that evening, if possible.

The process is designed to be quick and will not affect student files or coursework. Schools will provide time and support during the school day to help students complete the reset if needed.

This can also be a good opportunity to talk about safe digital practices, such as creating strong passwords, not sharing passwords and being cautious with suspicious emails or messages.

Family communication

Families will receive direct communication from their student’s school via ParentSquare with:

  • The specific date their school will complete the password reset
  • Instructions for supporting students at home
  • Information about where to get help if a student has trouble logging in

Why this matters

Phishing scams try to trick people into sharing passwords or clicking unsafe links. Requiring password changes helps reduce the risk of unauthorized access and reinforces safe digital habits students can use in and out of school.

Thank you for partnering with us to support safe, secure learning environments for all students.
