Today, Governor Inslee issued a proclamation requiring all public schools to provide both remote and in-person options for students in grades K-12. For grades 6-12, in-person instruction must begin by April 19.
Schools are expected to follow safety and distancing practices to prevent the spread of COVID, so students will likely be in a hybrid model, where they are in-school part of the time and learning from home part-time.
As Superintendent Enfield said in her video message yesterday, we have begun planning for hybrid learning for our secondary students. We will continue to collaborate with our employee’s labor representatives in this planning. Next week, we will survey families to learn how many students want to return to school for hybrid learning and how many want to remain fully remote.
Please look for a survey link before the end of next week. We will provide details as soon as we can.
