Highline Students Are Reading-A Lot

Highline Students Are Reading-A Lot
student reading

Students across Highline are busy reading! In the last 90 days, Highline students checked out 14,048 books using Sora, Highline’s free eBook and audiobook platform.

Some schools are leading the charge in digital reading! The top three schools with the most checkouts are North Hill, Cascade, and Mount View—way to go!

What are Kids Reading?

According to Sora data, students love books about soccer superstars—especially in Spanish. Biographies of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Neymar all rank in the top 10 most popular reads. Also making the top 10: Creepy Carrots, Creepy Pair of Underwear, and Creepy Crayon!

Building Strong Readers

Reading regularly helps students develop strong literacy skills, and families play an important role in fostering a love of reading. Simple habits—like reading together, talking about books, and encouraging writing at home—make a big difference in a child’s learning journey.

Students can find Sora through ClassLink and start checking out books in just a few clicks. Sora gives students access to thousands of titles anytime, anywhere—whether they’re in class, at home, or on the go.

Keep up the great reading, Highline!
