High School Students: Become a Waskowitz Leader

The Waskowitz Outdoor Education Center is looking for high school students to be a counselor for the elementary outdoor school program. There are 8 weeks to choose from this spring.

As a leader, you will:

  • Supervise 5th graders in the cabin, lead them in songs, skits and stories.
  • Make lifelong friends while developing valuable leadership skills.
  • Earn .5 credit.
  • Enjoy delicious meals.

You must commit to a three-day or five-day program (Monday-Wednesday, Wednesday-Friday or Monday-Friday). Transportation will be provided. Read more about being a One Week Leader.

Steps to becoming a high school leader at Waskowitz:

  2. COMMUNICATE: Waskowitz staff will contact you via StudentSquare and email. You must RSVP Yes to your week on StudentSquare.
  3. Get permission slip signed, read and sign Code of Conduct, get the medical authorization form filled out if you take medications, and talk to teachers about absence. These documents will be sent to you through StudentSquare when you register.
  4. Arrive at Leader Send-Off with belongings and documents mentioned above.
  5. Get excited to be a great leader!
