Across our schools, staff continue to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to ensuring every student is seen, supported and included. This work is not simple, and it is not static—it requires daily collaboration, creativity, and a deep belief in the potential of every learner.
Every day, educators and support teams put that belief into action. They design lessons that meet a wide range of needs, create classroom routines where students feel welcomed and understood, adapt materials and supports, build peer connections, and partner with families to serve all learners. Their efforts reflect Highline’s Promise that every student is known by name, strength, and need, and graduates prepared for the future they choose.
We are especially grateful for the ongoing work to expand inclusive practices across Highline. Next year, inclusive classrooms will expand into more secondary schools and with that staff will continue to open doors—literally and figuratively—so students with a wide range of abilities can learn alongside their peers and participate meaningfully in school life.
Sylvester welcomed its first inclusive cohort this school year. Their ongoing commitment to co-teaching has provided more access for diverse students and strengthens a culture of belonging.
